I, Dermot Garland, recently jumped on The Irish Photography Podcast to chat with Darren about all things photography!

On this weeks episode I get to have a chat with one of the photographers whose work I have been admiring for quite a long time. Dermot is based out of Dublin and has made the area his own playground, producing banger after banger every week and finding himself as one of the hottest Photographers on the scene at the moment. We discuss his journey in photography so far, his approach to a scene, editing and style. Dermot is certainly a photographer to follow in 2022 and I am sure beyond.

Building a website or brand for your business can be a daunting and sometimes costly task. Always remember, Time is money. We have put together a list of five things to do before calling a web designer that will give you the information you need to get the best result at the best price.

  1. Competitor Analysis – or as we like to call it, Professional Benchmarking! Identifying your competitors website will give you a better idea of what features and functionality are being used at industry standard.
  2. Choosing a style – having a clear idea of what you want is key. Make a list of three websites that you really like the look of. Note what it is that stands out to you and why. It could be the colors, the layout, the content or the imagery.
  3. Choose a tone – Choose a tone that represents your business. Do you want to come across as friendly, whitty, professional or informed? The language you use on your website make a huge difference.
  4. Images – What images best represent your business? Do you have images already? If so start by making a folder on your computer and adding these images to it. If not, most smart phones these days are more than capable of taking high resolution professional quality images that will be perfect for your website.
  5. Social – Do you a have a presence on social media? If not it’s time to create one. Social media plays a huge part in business these days and offers multiple solutions to promote your website content through.

Every year trends come and go and the web world is no different. Here are the top 3 trends we think will take over in 2020!

  1. Text only Hero Sections. In recent years we have seen a range of different styles from images, illustrations, animations and video in the hero section. Well move over as Text has risen to become one of the most popular solutions to get your message across.
  2. Retro colours and typography – Retro style is back and we are delighted to see it. Create nostalgia on your website using retro colour combinations, pastels and cool type!
  3. Black & White – Putting the focus on minimalist, clean, monochrome websites that scream professionalism!
